Corona Model 23-DK Kerosene Heater

I purchased this really nice Corona from Craig's List. It's about 10 years old and is very well constructed. I opened it up to check out the wick and it was in near new condition. This heater looks to have been used only once or twice. The ignitor was working but just went out so I used a lighter to light her up. I'll get a replacement ignitor too. I like this Corona a lot more than my Dyna-Glo which is only a year old. The wick latching mechanism is stronger and holds tighter as compared to others that slip. Also on the wick adjuster knob there is a little button that you push that gives you as much play needed to lower and raise the wick without activating the wick retraction device. A common problem folks have in other heaters is not enough play to lower the wick enough once the flame is too high. Nice additional feature I've never seen before. Besides the window in the front, it also has a window in the rear. This is a nice features I haven't seen in other convective heaters. It produces a lot more glow from the fire which is an nice touch. |
